After a hiatus of about 6 years I have been drawn back in with the simplicity of the rules and the cheap cost of armies. I love flames of war but cant afford the price of units and with increasing age 15mm is becoming to much of a challenge for painting.
AndyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16132867445767800724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4447293089931737000.post-11046145627391917082010-09-25T08:46:04.869+01:002010-09-25T08:46:04.869+01:00Dear Steve

We didn't have superglue either back in the dark ages of my youth.
JohnJohn Lambsheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04598696442104566164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4447293089931737000.post-78753915917038830652010-09-22T21:12:56.398+01:002010-09-22T21:12:56.398+01:00John, for Sov's the Plastic Soldier HARD plast...John, for Sov's the Plastic Soldier HARD plastics in 20mm, 57 figures for a tenner is a must for you. That said I haven't had a problem with flaking, In the "old days" when we painted with enamels yes, but acyrilics flex so less of an issue. Yes if you bend the figure in half the paint will probably come of, but so will it on a metal figure if you mistreat it so.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15785517757211882618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4447293089931737000.post-56878385012441618642010-09-22T16:12:21.156+01:002010-09-22T16:12:21.156+01:00Dear Sons

Fifty figures for ten bucks? Twelve dollars for a tank? OK!

I think my first real model was a 1/72 Spitfire too, but not sure of the manufacturer. I made a few planes but wasn't very good, and it took 40K to bring me back to plastic glue.sonsoftaurushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08466971377569066201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4447293089931737000.post-86976553865853002572010-09-21T21:43:36.858+01:002010-09-21T21:43:36.858+01:00I've mostly used Command Decision (first and s...I've mostly used Command Decision (first and second editions, from GDW), with 1:285 scale minis (GHQ and a few others). I concentrated on Western front WWII but also did a brigade or so each for modern Soviet, US, German, UK.

I recently bought the new edition (now called "Test of Battle: Command Decision", IIRC) but haven't used it yet. I also bought some scenario books (but haven't bought the actual rules book!) for "Flames of War", which I heard was "WWII 40K" in one review.Frederick Paul Kiesche IIIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17503079579685008728noreply@blogger.com
