A Beautiful Day in Kent
Today was warm and sunny so we went to Hole House to see the gardens. It is a little early for the full bloom of flowers but nevertheless the gardens were wonderful. A few pics below.
Beautiful pics. It has been unseasonably warm here in the northeast of the United States for April. We had a very rough winter this year, so I think the flowers and green shoots are appreciated just a bit more than usual :D
Even though Oxfordshire is less than 40 miles north of Maidstone, I'm constantly amazed that spring is so much sooner in Kent. I've been visiting the Weald for work for over a year now and this year I shall be noting the lapse between bluebells there and bluebells up here in artic Oxfordshire
John Fantastic photos....just makes me even more depressed that my kids have trampled about 80% of my daffs so far this year playing football on the lawn....(sighs) LOL
John - the Daff's needed to be good this year, I don't know what it was like in Kent but both here (W.Berks) and at my Bro's & Mums (both Hampshire) the Crocuses and Snow-drops were both very disappointing, thin, weedy and over in a week?
Also the cold seems to have given the Sycamore helicopters a real boost, their little twin umbrella's are coming up everywhere!
Dear ZZZ It has always astonished me how much climatic variety there is in such a small island. In S. Cornwall they used to grow pineapples outdoors. John
You can't beat a carpet of Daff's, I've just put a load of the boss and my Mother's up on my Gardening blog, but these are a better spectacle!

ReplyDeleteSo when are you going to translate all that into some cool gaming scenery?
ReplyDeleteDear Maverick
ReplyDeleteAgreed. It's been a good year for them.

Dear Jonathon
ReplyDeleteEarly spring again here too. We had a cold snap that was quite like old times (and wrecked the roads) but it didn't last.

Dear DB
ReplyDeleteLOL. A bit beyond my meagre skills unfortunately.

Dear Maverick
ReplyDeleteMedway has been a blaze of colour. It's been a good year for spring flowers.
