The Alternative Wargamer
This has been knocking around the web for a while and it is appears to be in the public domain. I think it refers to the fashion, a few years ago, for getting modern authors to write sequels to historic novels - sometimes the choice of new author was, shall we say, controversial. Anyway here Sven Hassel, author of Legion of the Damned and Wheels of Terror, writes the sequel to Peter Rabbit.
Dear Smurf Yes I fear its an American M26 but considering how often they were used in Hollywood movies as German Tigers he perhaps should be forgiven Dear John according to the old Rapid fire rules and stats I think Ive got about 2 battalions of infantry and a couple of tank companies but sadly no killer bunnies (might make an interesting HOTT army though?
I've just come across this posting and wanted to say thank you, a big thank you for bringing a smile to my face. I really enjoyed it and now want to show it to my daughter who as a very young child used to love Peter Rabbit.
I am dissapointed that Sven Hassel cannot spell Maybach correctly.
ReplyDeleteHowever the line "Take that for putting my father in a pie, you four eyed Scots bastard." is perhaps of zenith of revisionist literature such as this.
Coming next, Death Wish - the Wind in the Willows
ReplyDeleteTrust a wargamer to know how to spell Maybach, John
ReplyDeleteWow. SOOOO much better than Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy day is a bit better now. Thanks John!
ReplyDeletePrinting this up for my little girl. She loves bunnies, and I love tank hunting. Bedtime stories should be fun for the whole family.
ReplyDeleteDear Max
ReplyDeleteI read the first few chapters of PPZ and then got bored. It struck me as a single joke that went on too long.
