Water Gardens at Leeds Castle
The Water Gardens at Leeds Castle are now recovered from the Great Storm of '87. The bridge has been rebuilt by the Gurkha Engineers based at Chatham.
in '87 a Great Storm swept up the English Channel and ripped through southeast England, flattening forest, taking off roofs etc. It put London out of communication for 24 hours triggering the financial crash of the year.
I see! Now it makes sense. In '87 we had a very strong winter, 1,5 meters of snow and -28 celsius. Of course you have milder (?) weather there. Thanks for the answer.
Dear Igi It is also famous because a TV weatherman made fun of a lady who had heard that a hurricane was on the way that night. My pregnant wife slept right throught it even though bits of next door's roof slid across mine and into the front garden. J
