Henry Moore
This is a Henry Moore sculpture that I photographed recently at Hatfield House.
I have to say that I do not see the attraction of Moore. Perhaps I am just a Philistine. What do you think?
I hope that's not its permanent home. I like Moore's sculpture, and I like this piece, but not at the expense of the building hidden behind it! I'm not anti modernism, far from it, but I do think modern architecture and art needs to be sensitive to its surroundings. This most definitely isn't.

ReplyDeleteNo, it was a special exhibition of Moore's work.

I don't see it either but each to their own I guess!
ReplyDeleteDear Paul
ReplyDeleteI don't get a lot of modern art but I suspect that Lee has a good point. The work might look far more at home in, say, Docklands.
