Armour of the BEF, France 1940: Reconnaissance
The Morris CS9 armoured car had a riveted armoured hull on a truck chassis. It was armed with a Boys anti-tank rifle and a Bren LMG (or a Vickers MMG). One hundred were made and thirty eight were used by the 12th Royal Lancers in France, 1940.
The Bren Gun Carrier (more properly Universal Carrier) was arguably the most manufactured AFV of WWII. 113,000 were made. The British 1st Armoured Division in France had around 109 in various roles.
They look great! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteI like em too, good post John
ReplyDeleteYou're very kind.
DeleteVery nice models! What make are they?
ReplyDeleteThe Carrier is Tamiya 1:48. The infantry and AC are Warlord Games, from the Bolt Action range.
DeleteAh, I thought they were smaller, 20mm scale. No wonder I didn't recognize the figures.
DeleteGood work anyhow!
28 ml models. As I get older I like my models bigger. It's a sort of reverse childhood.
