Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
The funny thing is you will find an aircraft model maker that replicates this scheme. I have many military model magazines and they look for quirky examples to replicate in a model, they will also copy the bad paint job. The result is a very ugly looking model. I even had a magazine where a whole article was dedicated to someone modelling the rusted out hulk of a tank used as target practice on a firing range. The result was an orange rusty blob and did not even look like a tank. Purists :)
Hah! Nice one.
ReplyDeleteHow did we ever win?
DeleteAircraftman Pratt, at your service.
ReplyDeleteThat makes me feel soooo much better about my painting horrors!
ReplyDeleteLooks like my childhood model Spits.
ReplyDeleteGreat real stuff. I'm sure it was tidied upbefore the Normandy landings?...
