1938: Gladiator
The last great British biplane fighter, immortalised in the defence of Malta in the form of Faith. Hope and Charity. This RAF fighter is a powerful addition to a Civil War Brigade.
Saw one of them in Valetta in Jun this year (minus wings, as she was indoors, in amuseum in a Napolionic fortress). There is an air museum in the middle of the island but I could not pursude Mrs Z to go there after dragging her through all the Hospitaler exhibitions.
Airfix have announced a float-plane version of this old veteran.
