Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
The east London skyline as it will appear next year with the new Cheesegrater tower, just to the right of the Erotic Gherkin (background) and the Shard.
The Shard is on the South bank of the Thames to the right of this picture and I'm afraid this isn't East London. This is the City of London. Zee Germans flattened the East end during zee War.
Just to the right of the new cheese grater building you can just make out the Lloyds building, where I'm currently writing this!
Its shame in some ways we use to have one of the most distinctive skylines in the world with the likes of Big Ben and St Pauls etc now it just looks like the pale imitation of any other modern city skyscape.
i don't think any of those are the Shard! :)
ReplyDeleteDuh, no you're right.

Arq.
Hmmm, It's the East End. Not the 'old East End but the East End. :)

ReplyDeleteYes, I have no problem with towers going up in the East End but it seems a shame to spoil the skyline in the City of London.
