IHMN: Hell in the Sudan
"It was hell in the Sudan, I tell you, Fotheringay. As if the heat and the flies weren't bad enough, my batman ran out of single malt and had to fill my canteen with blended Scotch."
Excellent. Maybe he should have done what Redvers Buller did during the Sudan campaign and commandeer enough camels to carry all his Veuve Clicquot with him!
The Campaign failed because of lack of camels but Redvers, if memory serves, commandeered 24 to carry his booze. Now that is taking alcoholism and incompetence to heroic levels.
LOL!

DeleteBlended? Good God, war is hell!
ReplyDeleteThe sacrifices can be almost unbearable.
