Bad Paint Job
The fragrant Ron, over at FtW has asked members to post one of their worst paint jobs. He obviously fancied a laugh.
So here is my disastrous Tarzan. The fact that I gave him purple hair (red-green colour blindness) is almost incidental to the sheer horror of the over enthusiastic drybrushing.
The worst thing is that I thought that it was not a bad piece of work.

I wish I could paint that "badly."
ReplyDeleteHaha as do I, I would post my work but I don't want to be responsible for any lasting psychological damage!
ReplyDeleteDear Christian and Pacific,
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind.
Cool Mini or Not voters think even my best stuff is barely mass wargame standard :)
John
My early works were very similar to that. I also was quite pleased with them.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that always scares me when I finish a piece now and am please with it is that I will revisit it in two years and it will look like Tarzan to me.
Also, Tarzan must have some amazing callouses on his feet to endure what appears to be a landscape made up of quartz (which is superior to what my friends used to call my "kitty litter basing technique")
Dear Mike
ReplyDeleteI think you have to keep trying new things, and being philosophical about the inevitable disasters.
John
Seveal layers make it better than unpainted no?
ReplyDeleteHmm, John, I actually like your miniature, too. =) If you label him as a human from the ice age, he looksperfect. =)
ReplyDeletei actually like it too, i wouldnt feel bad bout it.
ReplyDeletedear Guys
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely in a generous mood. John
