Boudica - Queen of the Iceni
She was "possessed of greater intelligence than often belongs to women ... tall, had hair described as reddish-brown or tawny hanging below her waist, a harsh voice and a piercing glare, and habitually wore a large golden necklace (perhaps a torc), a many-coloured tunic, and a thick cloak fastened by a brooch."

Hi John
ReplyDeleteLike the model and the paint job Whose description? Tacitus? On another totally unrelated tack liked "Into the Hinterlands" reminded me of Hienlein (backroom wheeler, dealing pleasingly inept soldiery and the appropriate yet rough and ready justice) read the Baen website comments I think I can spot some of the bits that were you and bits that were David Drake (I bet the Americain Google and Wikipaedia had a few enquiries about corracles)
very nice mini from warlords, and you did the model justice
ReplyDeleteHi Shaun
ReplyDeleteThe quote is from Dio. I have a vague idea that the Tacitus commentary on the Boudiccan rebellion is lost.

DearSeb
ReplyDeleteThanks, it is a nice mini. Everyone does a Boudicca but Warlord do the best IMHO.

"The quote is from Dio" - I've checked every Dio album and can't find any lyrics like this. What? You don't mean Ronnie James Dio?! :-)
ReplyDeleteDear Steve
