Blood Pact Platoon Command

My Shrouded Ones Blood Pact platoon is almost finished. I need to add a couple more riflemen to make up the numbera and two whole platoons are complete. Then there is only the command group and some veterans to go and I have a playable army. Almost there, chaps, almost there.

Blood Pact Missile Team

The Blood Pact production line grinds on. Painting line infantry is sooooooo boring. This is a heavy weapon missile team for the Regiment of the Shrouded Ones.

The miniatures are Pig Iron (Militia bodies and Feral heads) with various bits from my spares box(es) added to a standard GW plastic base.

There are a few more pics below from different angles.

Blood Pact Heavy Infantry

Yet more Blood Pact Infantry, the production line is stoking up. These are Stormtroopers in game turns - I use the IG Codex for my Blood Pacts - so I can fill an elite slot.

Looking at the full res. blow ups, I still need to do a bit of cleaning up but they are substantially finished.

The strange looking support weapons are plasma guns.

PS: You may recognise the plastic figures. You can get bucket loads cheap off eBay.

Blood Pact Army

I got my entire Blood Pact army out to see how it was going. Not too bad, it seems. I need to do some more infantry and fast attck but that should about do it.

The Other Blood Pact Tank

This is the other Blood Pact tank in the two-tank squadron. It plays as a basic Leman Russ, with the addition of a chaos missile launcher (assuming opponent isn't anal).

Blood Pact Renegade Tanks

I bought a couple of 'renegaded' Leman Russ tanks second hand. They had fought on many a battlefield and had a fair degree of battle damage. I have tarted one of them up a bit.

Blood Pact Aeronef

This is my Blood Pact Aeronef. The basic light aeronef model is made by Ironclad Miniatures. I have added Citadel plastic models and Forge World iconsfrom Warhammer and Warhammer 40K.

It is not totally finished. I will probably add some decoration in the fullness of time.

Sorry about the photos, incidentally. We have no light here so I have to use a flasgun.

Paint Shop Pro

I have purchased a copy of Paint Shop Pro to play with. I have not used this program in a decade. It has not got any easier to use. I am not very good at graphics.

I still can't workout how to place a foreground image over a background to make a composite.

But I have been playing.

Samakand the Blind

This is an Enigma figure from their Massive Darkness range, Ujahu the Lethal Breeze.

http://www.enigmaminiatures.com/en/massive.html

I have painted and based it to match my Pig Iron Blood Pact renegades. This will be their commander, the thrice evil Samakand the Blind.

Their agent in the UK is All Sorts Emporium. I have bought from this supplier a number of times through their eBay shop and been very satisfied with their service.

Blood Pact Death Wheel

Dan Abnett describes a new blood pact terror weapon that is a sort of external sphere with plasma guns studded all over it and a level internal cage where the pilot sits. It fires plasma bolts at randon and is used as a line breaker.

I have cosidered making one from ping pong balls but they will not look like anything. I now think I have found a kit to bash.

Corpses

Someone asked for a close up of the mutilated body of a Guardman on the 'dozer blade of a Blood Pact tank.

A certain amount of green stuff was involved for intestinal loops.

Blood Pact Infantry

I picked up some Pig Iron Feral Militia who are just perfect for Chaos Blood Pact troops. They have a wonderful ragged look plus bizarre masks.

Pig Iron have just released special weapon militia models - oh joy.

They are also a good source of heads and weapons as seperate items.

I highly recommend them. You can find their address on the side bar of this page.

I am still experimenting with paint layering rather than drybrushing-inking. The technique fascinates me but I definitely need more practice.

Blood Pact Urdeshi Usurper SPG with U90 Assault Cannon

I put up the basic-painted version of this model earlier.

This is my definitely final finished version. I have added Blood Pact decoration including the fresh, legless corpse of a Guardsman. A Blood Pact Trooper has cut his hands off for souvenirs.

This tank can be played as a Leman Russ but makes a better light super-heavy tank (good grief, I sound like a WRG Army List - Light Heavy Infantry etc.) based on a Malcador with a Basilisk gun capable of direct fire only.

Blood Pact Urdeshi STeG 4 Light Armoured Car

So here it is, finally, the Blood Pact Urdeshi battle car. I will probably play it as a Hellhound or the other one that sprays toxic acid. That seems to me to be very Blood Pact.

I have gone again for a badly maintained, dirty, rusty workhorse. This is the equivalent of a Vauxhall Viva that has been too many times around the M25 and too few times into the workshop.

I have made it a half-track conversion of the sort that were used in Russia in Winter. They took the wheels off and slotted on tracks. The kit is of a Russian copy of a British vehicle from the mid Wars period.

Blood Pact Urdesh N20 Pattern Half Track

I showed an early version of this model a few weeks ago.

It is kitbashed from a Revell WWII German Artillery Tractor, Catachans, various GW bitz and MiniMax Traitor Legionairres. The armoured cab is scratch built.

The N20 is described in the Gaunt's Ghost series and The Sabbat Worlds Crusade Source Book, both by Dan Abnett.

The Blood Pact are not known for their strict adherence to maintenance schedules and never wash and wax their AFVs.

My thanks to the blogger who suggested putting soot on the bonnet under the flame-thrower.

I have put a pic on Cool Mini or not:

Blood Pact - Salvaged Leman Russ Tanks

I decided to give my Blood Pact a Leman Russ squadron, partly to pacify the local GW store manager when I wanted to use my pact army in the shop. I wanted the tanks to clearly be salvaged and rebuilt battle wrecks so I have put in some modifications.

They carry Chaos symbols of various sorts, Khorne and Chaos undivided, with some skulls on spikes, heads etc, representing the previous owners of the vehicles. The Blood Pact tend to put the prvious owner's head on a spike as their equivalent to sending a Vehicle Change of Ownership Notification to the Ministry.

The first tank is a bog-standard Leman Russ that was clearly captured as a going concern - along with two of the crew!

The second is a salvaged wreck with a burnt out turret that has been rebuilt as an assault gun with the battle cannon mounted in the hull. None of the secondary weapons were left in working condition so the Blood Pact articifers mounted a heavy stubber in a pintle mount.

The third vehicle is another salvaged wreck. This one still had a working turret and lascannon. the side sponson controls were unrepairable so the articifers have removed them and mounted the heavy bolters in cut outs where they can be operated manually. Reactive armour has been added, notably around the turret.

Etched Brass

My Forge World Etched Brass order arrived and I have been fitting then to my Blood Pact vehicles.

I have never used these before so I was at a bit of a loss how to deal with them.

I cut them out and fixed them securely to the models. Then I coated them in Sepia wash and gave them 24 hours to thoroughly dry.

I brushed them hard with a pan scourer and polished the revealed metal with a rotacraft polisher.

I am quite pleased with the outcome.

Hell Talon

I have a weakness for airplanes. I think it goes back to my childhood when I made plastic Airfix kits and hung them from my bedroom ceiling. I used to try to shoot them down with a torch.

Anyway, here is my latest kitbash, a Chaos Hell Talon. I kitbash rather than buy Forge world because (i) I have a limited budget and (ii) I enjoy the challenge of making something unique.

It is not quite finished. I am still waiting for my emblems from Forge World and I have to add some bombs.

It is now in playable condition.

Blood Pact Mutie Patrol

I have finished my first Mutie patrol based around a half track.

I went to town on the weathering as this is supposed to be a hard used vehicle. It is supposed to look like an agricultural tractor with a armoured cab added in the field.

The Blood Pact use these to hold down rural areas on conquered planets, to ferry troops across the battlefield and for reconnaissance.

Blood Pact Mutie Commander with Escort

I hate doing infantry having a low boredom threshhold.

But it's gotta be done.

The legas are old beastmen models and the heads are from West Wind's Wierd WWII range.

I trim the neck and then epoxy resin the head on.
