Morning of the Wedding

The bride is ready.

My daughters preparing on the morning of the big day. It had rained for 4 solid weeks but the Vicar assured us that it would be OK on the day as he had powerful connections. At midday it stopped raining and the clouds shifted to show brilliant sunshine. The next day it started to rain again. The pics are shown in reverse order.

Mother and bridesmaid (No 2 daughter) departing in the Roller.

Getting the bride into the dress.

The bridesmaid is ready.

The make up artist used a very sophisticated Iwata double action airbrush. I was quite jealous.

Arrival of the flowers.

  1. Wow, congratulations! I'm a little stunned however; my daughter is six and I thought this whole 'growing up and getting married' thing was just a rumor.

  4. Dear Mik
You will find the time goes quickly so make the most of it. One day you will come home to find some spotty herbert has his arm around your daughter.

I have already subverted him to the Dark Side, much to my daughter's annoyance.

  11. Congrats proud Papa! You had good luck with the weather, it's even snowing here, in Sunny California.

Weddings can be spendy, hope you still have some shillings for the little toy men.

  15. Dear Darkangel
The first time I went to southern California there was fog and rain. It looked like Devon.

  16. Bloody Hell, John - you must be a proud dad right now! How long til you offload number two?

All good wishes to the happy couple.

Talking of daughters, weather and things American and Devonian...In the last month (the first month of Baby Hazel's life, I might add) we've entertained both Mrs. Drax's mother and (separately; currently) her father, both all the way from Chicago - and they've had nothing but rain here in Devon.

I'm not sure if Hazel's even seen the sun yet...

The dashing policeman with the vintage MG is her beau. She finishes university in 6 months.I am hopeful!

My family come from Dartmoor, although I was born in Cornwall (Newquay).

Chicago is the one American city that I have never visited that I would love to visit. Everyone speaks well of it.
