Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
Nicely painted to boot
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the original paint job. If someone has retouched it then they did a professional job.
ReplyDeletehello John, any chance you could give me a length and width measure in mm, to compair to my Tamiya 1/48 kit?
ReplyDeleteI measured the top hull as that is nice and flat: 100mm by 62mm. Hope that helps.
DeleteYea they were nice those Corgi die-casts - I have a Churchill from the same series - wish I'd bought the lot at the time! Never imagined they would be so transient. Wonder what happened to the tooling?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know Rick. I bought none of them on the grounds that they would be sold off cheap eventually. Sigh.
DeleteYou have to lurk around eBay and 2nd hand model shops but I have seen popular models change hands for £80.
I have so far picked up two Churchills, a Soviet Churchill, half-track mover and AA gun, Panther, Centaur, Sherman and now Tiger.
I have one of those too John. I've been lucky enough to pick up a few of the Corgi vehicles as I stupidly didn't buy any when they were originally on sale. It's a shame they didn't do a more varied range though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think we all thought there would be plenty of 2nd hand but they made so few. I would have liked a Cromwell.
