Space Rats

I painted a few of these Mantic Space rats and then gave up. My friend Shaun painted the rest.

These will make a nice Antares Army.

    So what do you think about the Mantic rats? I'm wondering because the Deadzone 2 kickstarter pledge manager is coming up soon, and I'm debating wether I should get the whole deal or just the terrain bits.

      If I may say they are very skaven in space the trooper types come with quite a few different heads but one type of rifle or a pistol and knife which are good for defining a squad (pack?) leader they also have a support weapon a flamer type thing going by the tanks they have on their backs then there is a heavy infantry type a bit more heavily armoured type, a kind of storm vermin Rat guard/terminator with power claws and built in pistols on one arm and power club/stabby thing in the other hand they also have a support weapon attached
      finally what I think of as the boss rat in heavy armor with heavier weapons John tells me that this is actually a support type a bit like a rat ogre
      I enjoyed putting them together they weren't very flashy so minimum amount of trimming required the troopers are a bit fussy as regard which arms fit which torso to make the rifles fit but once you've done a few it soon becomes easy to spot the right pairing. hope that helps in making your purchasing decision Leif.

    What are those figures made from? I like the look of them but I've put off getting any because I had the impression they weren't just hard plastic that takes regular styrene cement (like GW plastics).
    I'm not fond of resins or using super-glue on figures (fragile bond)... but if these were good hard plastic I'd jump right in.

      They're not standard hard plastic. I can't remember what glue I used. What did you use Shaun?

    Hi John
    Just a standard thick super glue as it takes a little while
    (30 seconds or so) to set so you've got a bit of wriggle room when positioning a part.
