ReplyDeleteI didn't even know there's a Dr.Who comic, but I really love the series. My wife and I buy all the english seasons :)
Wow, great buy!

One of the chaps was waving a copy around at the club last week (same idea as you) - I suspect they may find this is a very popular issue!
ReplyDeleteDear Klaus
ReplyDeleteI recall the first series, in 1963. It started the wekend Kennedy was killed.

Dear Sons

Dear Al
ReplyDeleteI hope they laid in extra copies,
J
Blimey. Why 17 though? And those colours? Is this finally Dalek skittles? I'd convert one into the Abomination. This really is exciting, a collective nerd event..!
ReplyDeleteDear Porky
ReplyDeleteThose are the new Dalek colours, of course.
As for seventeen, um, it's the mystical number of toes on Davros' left foot, or something like that.
J
What can I say but dear oh dear oh deary me
ReplyDeleteanyone for a Skyro set?
I tried watching the rebooted episodes with my daughter, she found them creepy. So I bought the DVD's of An Unearthly Child/The Daleks/The Edge of Destruction and we started watching them this weekend. Hook, line and sinker. She thought they were "decent" which is her code for "really great". For a kid who refuses to watch any movie in B&W ("They should have filmed it in color to begin with."), this is a good thing. Now on to "Edge" and whatever other episodes I can get on DVD.
ReplyDeleteDear Shaun
ReplyDeleteWith these I can rule the world ahhahahahaha..choke...gurgle.
J
Dear Fred
ReplyDeleteThe old ones have a certain charm that transcends the wobbly sets etc.
J
Dear John if you looked inside at the back page they were advertising that next weeks copy (out thursday 10th of Feb) comes with 8 Cybermen and 8 Sontarans think I will have a few copies of that one too. Got my Daleks last night at ASDA they still had plenty on the shelf. Re you making an abomination the Daleks are made in two not quite halves and seem to be snap together so should wit a little judicious screwdriver work come apart and make it easier to customise I was thinking the octopus boy head from the Wargames Factory stormtroopers would do for an uncanned Dalek
ReplyDeleteDear Shaun
ReplyDeleteSontarans and Cybermen, just has to be done. I was thinking of making one of the fighting daleks with two heavy weapons on the arms.
J
Dear John He might topple forward a bit suggest a bigger possibly wieghted base.
ReplyDeleteI've done some basic 40k stats and rules for the different colours/classes of Dalek (sad twisted boy that I am). Ill let you have a look /copy next time I see you (also as I couldn't face learning a new rule system to use them). Now for the Sontarans and Cybermen....
Shaun
ReplyDeleteI'm up for a 40K Dalek game,
J
Hi John
ReplyDeleteAs these are the new Daleks Do the road signs to the abandoned industrial estate where the Daleks have their secret hideout have to be bilingual? i.e. english and welsh re game Sunday PM suit?
Dear Shaun
ReplyDeleteExterminate, look you.....
J
Hi John Just to say bought a few of the Cybermen and Sontaran issues of the Dr.Who
ReplyDeleteadventure comic figures a bit mumblety peg but OK; but the plastic is a horrible heavy duty and waxy feeling polythene of some kind,
reminded me slightly of "Dolly" plastic so a bit of a disapointment after the nice crisp Daleks still they are meant for the kiddies not for us 50 year olds I suppose. Still at less than 14p each can't really complain
Dear Shaun
ReplyDeleteYes, a disappointing freeby.
J
PS I still bought three.
