Postie knocked on the door to deliver shiny new toys from Games Workshop.
God alone knows when I shall be able to make and paint them but I thought you might like to see the sprues.
Fortress of Redemption Sprues
Skaven Doomwheel Sprues
Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
You get all the best toys, your wife must be very forgiving. I'm envious.
ReplyDeleteShe has got used to me in the last 34 years,

Ah, warhammer widows, where would we be without them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your sprue with us! One thing; while we all know about how big a Fortress of Redemption is, it would be nice to have a mini in the shots for scale.
ReplyDeleteDear Geek,
ReplyDeleteThe large sprues are he size of the box and you can see the scale against the standard size doomwheel box. It is big!

I love both of these kits and plan to pick them up myself sometime before the end of the year. I have a slight criticism of the fortress and that is the massive Dark Angel icon ... I wish they would have cast that as a separate part so people could use the fortress as more of a generic piece ... even if the gigantic robed figure isn't a "Dark Angel" this fortress says nothing but "Dark Angels." I have a DA army in my arsenal though so I'm happy with it and plan to buy it. It comes with soooo much stuff ... I hope the trend of really awesome terrain continues!
ReplyDeleteDear Excess
ReplyDeleteI agree, GW terrain is very good value these days,
