Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
Definitely summer skies in the Garden of England this week! Belmont is a rather nice estate, The gardens are superb and it has a 'nuttery'!
ReplyDeleteBelmont is one of my favourite gardens. We stopped going for a while after one of daughters fainted and nearly took out an antique table. :)
DeleteYou can almost see the pretty contrails in the sky, 1940-style, can't you?
ReplyDeleteI find lying down and looking up at summer skies in the South East is evocative of precisely nothing else.
Makes me yearn for a well-tailored RAF uniform and for my wife to be dressed as a WAAF...or maybe a 1940s nurse...?
A clear blue sky over Kent is still known as a Spitfire summer.
