Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
Cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous Museum, built on the airfield that flew the first Spitfire squadron.
DeleteDear John,
ReplyDeleteI particularly noted the 7.2" howitzer like the one which Spike Milligan crewed in the Western Desert. The tanks are neat (I got a good picture of you in front of Montgomery's command tank), but I'd never seen that howitzer before in the flesh, so to speak.
A neat trip!
Dave
LOL, you will have to send me that photo to upload to the blog.
DeleteHi John,
ReplyDeleteI've just spent the last 5 weeks reading through your blog and it's been an utter pleasure. But then I am from Cornwall and we are all a bit 'touched'. I love the eclective mixture of topics.
Regards,
Steve
Dear Steve, Which part of Cornwall. My wife and I are from Newquay.
DeleteOriginally from the Bodmin area, Cardinham in my earlier years, on the edge of Bodmin Moor. I now live in Devon with a lovely view of the Okehampton side of Dartmoor.
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Steve
My family originally come from S Dartmoor, Ilsington. But my branch went to London then back to Plymouth, ending up in Newquay. I moved back to London and now live in the Kent commuter belt.
