One thing about The Plague of Sigmar and other new skirmish fantasy armies is that's it's got me to paint up all the old Warhammer fantasy stuff I've got scattered around the house (the garage, the shed, the attic etc, etc).
Yere be moy spider-rider goblins.
Not green as Warhammer is dead!
These models are cheap as chips on the web and they're not bad. I used plenty of Army Painter dark brown varnish to dirty them.

They look John.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ashley. They are not bad models at all.
DeleteVery nice :) The warhammer is dead! Long live the warhammer!
ReplyDeleteI think Priestley's vision will live on in some form.
DeleteMostly I hope the terrible gags survive to baffle another generation!
DeleteThe drop in the sophistication level and the rise of portentiousness in GW game products in recent years is noteworthy.
DeleteVery nice indeed. The skin tone is wonderful! I love a green gobbo but it's great to see something different.
ReplyDeleteIt's a revolt against Plague of Sigmar.
DeleteLooking good! I like the not making them green bit a lot
ReplyDeletecheers
Every so often I get these bursts of radicalism and experiemnt with a new brand of tea - that sort of thing.
DeleteNicely done and I do like the palette you chose for them.
ReplyDeleteI think gobbos should be murky.
DeleteDear John,
ReplyDeleteThe mounts look like fishing spiders. Do you think that was what they had in mind?
(We had a fishing spider in one of our ponds some years ago. Apparently she and her offspring didn't winter over, unfortunately.)
Dave
Not as such David - what we had in mind was making something that would work in a mould and fit on the (standard sized) based - hence the shape of it! Very prosaic I'm afraid!
DeleteDear Rick,
ReplyDeleteThat makes perfect sense, and there's a lot about publishing that works the same way.
But I really like fishing spiders.
