Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
They definitely look better with the brown bases - the green was a little jarring with the paint scheme. It also seems to fit the fluff of the Vraks conflict a bit better to have a brown sand/dirt look to them. I'd switched up to painting the rims of all of my bases in Dark Flesh regardless of the color I used for the top of the base a few years ago and it definitely helps the models stand out. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteGreat. As I noted before, I am red-green colour blind. That green did not look bright to me!

Very nice! The eye is no longer drawn to the base, you can see the whole model now.
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed, constructive criticism rules the day!
ReplyDeleteThat is an impressive change. The darker bases make the models the focal point, well done John and Drunken Samurai!
