Death Strike Missile Launcher

GW have no intention of making this in a plastic kit so I judged it time for a little kitbashing. The hull is a Basilisk and the rocket a Revell V2.

The Death Strike Missile is of limited value in game turns but it looks fun so it is in my rejigged Jermanian Armoured Regiment.

I hate painting things white but Verner Von Braun liked white ones.

Gather round while I sing you of Wernher von Braun
A man whose allegiance is ruled by expedience
Call him a Nazi, he won't even frown
"Ha, Nazi schmazi," says Wernher von Braun

Don't say that he's hypocritical
Say rather that he's apolitical
"Once the rockets are up, who cares where they come down
That's not my department," says Wernher von Braun

Some have harsh words for this man of renown
But some think our attitude should be one of gratitude
Like the widows and cripples in old London town
Who owe their large pensions to Wernher von Braun

You too may be a big hero
Once you've learned to count backwards to zero
"In German oder English I know how to count down
Und I'm learning Chinese," says Wernher von Braun

  1. Great idea. I bet if you post this to the Imperial Guard section of FTW we'll be seeing these things all over the place.

Was it difficult to marry the kit to the chimera body? It looks great, and simple as well.

  2. That is a brilliant conversion - I'd been poking around looking for a good basis for a Deathstrike of my own and I think I'll just have to appropriate your idea. I really like the paint job on the carrier as well, that looks fantastic - Keep up the great work!

  3. It was dead easy to mate the V2 trailer to the Basilisk hull as a launcher. I put on a plasticard deck and cut up the bulldozer supports to get hydraulic rams to hold the launcher in the correct position. They might have been made for each other.

  4. Nice conversion. I especially like the Aquila in the Heart graphic. Sends a bit of love to the enemy.
