Skytrex

The economic climate has claimed another victim.

Skytrex has gone into administration. The people overseeing the bankruptcy are about to have a final sale.  If you need to round off a collection then go to the website and sign up for notification.

There have been signs that Skytrex were in trouble. They recently tried to sell off their wargame ranges.

  1. Sad. I remember there shop near Victoria station and I think I bought my first D+D figures there about 35 years ago.

    1. Yes, I remember them putting ship models in the window during the Faulklands War and crossing each one off as it was sunk. Wargamers, autistic?

  2. I think the blokes at Skytrex closed the business down willingly, and sold most of the ranges off. they have made it known in their newsletter for some time.
This, i think, is just that, finally closing the shop and the books.

    1. Administration generally means something else.

  3. Yes a sad day for many of us - the various wargames ranges have been up for sale for a while because the intention was to concentrate on the profitable model railway side of the business - but now the entire business has gone into administration and all of its assets are being sold off - not just the model ranges. So, there's casting machines, mould presses, vac chambers - and so forth as well as all the stock. Local company for me of course - about 15 mins down the road in fact!

    1. I guess some of the ranges might resurface if the moulds are up for sale. Skytrex seem to have been around for ever. As you say, sad day.

  4. I wonder how this will impact those of us in the US, where Skytrex figures are produced by Old Glory... will Old Glory be able to buy the molds, or will the relationship lapse with the sale to another party?

(Maybe I should buy a few more platoons of Pz.Kpfw. IVs while I can...)

  5. According to the Administrators' documentation OG are happy to continue to extend the current licensing arrangement with the new owners - but much will depend on who buys the ranges I guess.

  6. I think it might be wise to complete your collection while you can.
