Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
I had a Penguin Books edition of Beowulf with that on the cover. Might still have it (somewhere).
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult not to think of Beowulf in the Sutton Hoo Gallery of the BM.
DeleteThe culture comes to life.
Nice capture of that light in the eyesocket, John

DeleteI was using my Sony mobile.
Hoo is it?
ReplyDeleteYes, the refurbished gallery (no 41) has reopened.
DeleteNice! Loved my visit there a decade or so ago
ReplyDeleteThe BM is just incredible.
DeleteAh, Sutton Hoo, yes? I went to high school at RAF Woodbridge, just down the road from it. We has a teacher that was quite fanatical about Sutton Hoo, and we could get him to change any topic by mentioning Sutton Hoo. LOL, it's a fun memory...
ReplyDeleteThat's great. I have never been there but intend to.
