Welcome to my strange alternative world of wargaming with toy soldiers: a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books (HG Wells, Little wars)
'Costing the Earth' on Radio 4 had a special on the floods this week I believe. Hadn't had chance to listen to it but normally always a good programme.
ReplyDeleteComing from the Fens I am suprised at the lack of pumping stations on the Somerset Levels as well as drainage ditches, considering it is re-claimed land.
The amount of water falling has ben staggering. There have been considerable cuts in flood protection: austerity and all that.
DeleteLOL, most amusing!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly seems a hell of a winter in the Northern hemisphere... snow across America and UK underwater... makes me wonder whats coming our way for winter? Our summer has certainly been a bit hit and miss, mostly miss, this year...
The jest streams seem to have moved, giving extreme weather all over the northern hemisphere. We haven't exactly had a winter, just an endless October.
