Seamus the Mad Hatter

It has been a dodgy few days. A fox smashed through our garden gate from the lower garden in mid afternoon to attack rabbit. My wife chased him off but rabbit has smashed his foot getting away. Xrays show it is untreatable so he has to have a foreleg amputated. The vet has warned me that brer fox will come back for another try. I certainly hope so. I have a pitchfork ready to greet him appropriately.

We are having a whole series of fox attacks on people as well as pets in our cities since the idiot Blair passed fox protection laws to appease animal rights wierdos. They have lost their fear of people. Mind you, my wife had no problem terrifying one but she terrifies me when roused so I am not all that astonished.

Anyway, I have almost finished Seamus the Mad Hatter from Malifaux. He is a barking mad resurrectionist who has a bevy of dead belles (watch this space). I decided to cloak him in green as he is obviously Irish. Seamus is Malifaux' worst criminal. He needs the last layers added, including a wet effect on the marsh.

  1. Sorry to hear about rabbit. Perhaps some sort of self defense classes are in order? Rabbit style Kung-Fu perhaps?

Nice looking mini, I can't wait to see the belles.

  6. Looks great so far. I can't bring myself to get any of these minis (just yet) just for painting, and it's a chore to sell my group on a new game, but I think this Fall will see the advent of a Malifaux initiative around these parts.

  7. Poor bunny... :(
I don't know the law there, but you can't South Park it? I mean the South Park episode when the hunters shout 'It's gonna attack!' and then shoot the animal...

  10. Dear Igi,

Regretfully I don't have a gun license but I could not use it in my garden because I live in a city in Southern England. It's a high density commuter town.

If it keeps coming back despite my efforts to pitchfork it then I shall have to get a licensed person in to trap it.

My wife and I come from Newquay in North Cornwall and we don't have a fox problem there. The farmers cull them every few years in an organised shoot with dogs.

  11. "Idiot" Blair, as opposed to "saviour" Cameron?

  12. Dear John,

I usually go against shooting animals, but in this case I would do it. But in Hungary is hard to get a gun license (you have to be in a hunter community, pass exams, etc), and I dont like to put out poison (I lost too many dear cats). But I see your following post that the daemon bunny is fine.

  13. Dear Anon,
We await to see what Cameron is made of. Given that our last three PMs have been ghastly I am not optimistic.

  14. Dear Igi
I am not a natural hunter either but I have no sentimentality about foxes. Can't put poison out. I live in a high density city and many of my neighbours have inoffensive cats as pets.
