Blood Pact Aeronef

This is my Blood Pact Aeronef. The basic light aeronef model is made by Ironclad Miniatures. I have added Citadel plastic models and Forge World iconsfrom Warhammer and Warhammer 40K.

It is not totally finished. I will probably add some decoration in the fullness of time.

Sorry about the photos, incidentally. We have no light here so I have to use a flasgun.

  1. That's really cool, I hadn't thought of using aeronef in 40K!

  2. There is nothing that can't be used in 40K. treat the as skimmers.

  3. Very nice work - I like the steampunk vibe of the model, and the gunners turned out quite well! I was unfamiliar with Ironclad Miniatures, they make some neat models!

My only suggestion would be perhaps dangling some chains/hooks from the bottom of the hull once it's mounted on a flying stand to give it a bit of flavor?

Can't wait to see what's next - keep up the great work!

    That's a good idea.

  5. This model reminds me of the massive airship/carrier being slowly assembled on the Dei Greici blog, but more along the lines of an escort vessel of some sort. As for being used in 40k, with the waist heavy bolters & nose mounted (I presume counts as 'Las-)cannon', this has 'alternative Valkyrie' written all over it. Nice.

  6. As usual I love your reds and your weathering. The crew look great and those heavy bolters are posed nicely. The cannon on the front isn't my favorite, I'd rather see a pintle multilaser and maybe a couple rockets strapped to the side so it could be called a valkyrie. It's always good to see the Pact gain more models.

  7. Dear Cory
I have watched the Dei Greici blog with fascination and awe. What brilliant work.
Yah, you can play this as a Valkyrie/Vendetta or a skimmer leMan Russ (there is a flamer under the bow).

But at least we are now in a global village as far as communication goes.
Do you know, I can phone someone in the States cheaper than the other side of the city I live in?

  9. Dear Rabid
    The Pact live on.
I wanted something 'magical' for the main cannon. In game turns it could be anything.
The brick red did work OK, I think. I dirtied it up just a little. I was trying to make it look tarnished.

  10. Sorry John - I thought that I had already posted a reply!!!!!

I saw this model at the Newbury Show (UK) last year and plan on producing a 1/300th scale version of this and others later this year.

  11. Dear Tony
That sounds great. I still have not painted my aeronefs - sigh.
