One of the fun parts of the Apocalypse rules that have rejuvenated 40k are the introduction of ground-attack aircraft. The attacked have to be able to defend themselves so AA vehicles are necessary. I love mocking up whacky Ork transport so could not resist the Flakkatrakk (datasheet on p. 28 of Apocalypse reload).
I based my model on the old Gorkamorka trukk. There are lots of used examples of these knocking about at Bring and Buys and eBay than can be had cheaply.
The pom-pom guns are metal tubes available from model shops.
Ork vehicles are great fun for the converter. The tattier they look the better.
